Studio COVID-19 Policy

We care about your health and safety! Our COVID-19 policy is designed to help ensure the safety of everyone in your families as well as everyone in mine. Please take the time to read and consider all provisions with an open heart and a thoughtful mind.

Policies last updated: Friday, September 17, 2021

For All Students And Parents:

  • It is always, ALWAYS okay to opt for an online lesson, for whatever reason at all! If you are feeling under the weather, traffic is terrible, transportation isn’t available, or you don’t feel like leaving the house, I am happy to log onto Zoom and have your lesson that way!
  • Due to precautions regarding social distancing in indoor spaces, parents are asked to wait in the car or outdoors for their student while their indoor lesson takes place. If you would like to attend the lesson and hear and see what’s happening, I will be happy to enable your student’s Zoom feed so that you may participate as needed.
  • If you or your student are symptomatic in any way (allergies, coughing, sneezing, fever, feeling unwell) please opt for an online lesson and let me know ASAP! If you arrive and are symptomatic, I reserve the right to ask you to leave for the safety of myself and other students and the lesson will not be eligible for a make up.
  • I will be wearing a mask during all in-person lessons until further notice, based on the continuing recommendation of the CDC for masking in indoor spaces.
  • All students attending in-person lessons are asked to wash their hands before starting the lesson.
  • Communal instruments including pianos and keyboards will be surface-sanitized between in-person students.

For Vaccinated Students:

  • Fully vaccinated students are invited to attend in-person lessons as long as local case loads and variant information make it feasible and safe to do so.
  • I will wear a mask during all lessons.
  • Piano students are requested to wear a mask at all times while indoors.
  • Woodwind students who are vaccinated are requested to wear a mask when not actively playing during their lesson time.
  • Students opting for in-person lessons may always opt to switch to online lessons for any reason.
  • I reserve the right to change to online lessons only for all students at any time should conditions and case load numbers indicate that it is safer to do so.

For Unvaccinated Students:

  • Unvaccinated piano students may opt to attend in-person lessons indoors as long as they wear a mask in all indoor spaces.
  • I will wear a mask during all lessons.
  • If weather permits, I am happy to host unvaccinated woodwind students for in-person lessons in our backyard outdoor space. Determination of weather suitability will be made the day of the lesson.
  • Otherwise, unvaccinated students on woodwind instruments may only attend lessons online until transmission rates are low enough to permit safer interaction in indoor spaces.
  • I reserve the right to change to online lessons only for all students at any time should conditions and case load numbers indicate that it is safer to do so.
